Australia – Although one of the more expensive locations that will make this list, Australia has always been a choice destination for those looking to experience a lifestyle similar to what they’re used to but with a big climate change and exciting attraction opportunities on their doorstep too. Whilst the ability to enter may be a little limited over the next year with the ongoing pandemic, and many services remaining closed with online options like this list being favoured, if you are able to explore opportunities for remote working in Australia then it’s certainly worth exploring as a potential new home for you.
Thailand – Different regions of Thailand always top the list year after year and for good reason – with a lower cost of living, cheap transport both around the city in which you’re staying and to other nearby digital nomad hotspots, and for all other aspects of living from food and entertainment too. Historically being very welcoming to foreign workers, Thailand is considered a must-visit destination for all digital nomads and after a difficult and turbulent year, is certainly a destination to add. Must like Australia, with current travel restrictions some care will need to be taken and access may be restricted for a short period of time, but once travel is available it’s worth a visit.
UAE – A recent addition to the list, but one certainly well known about as Dubai has become a hotspot for influencers and digital nomads alike, and with the announcement of the remote working visa on offer this year it is another great choice. Much like Australia, cost of living is on the higher side but that does come with great modern amenities including fast and reliable internet access and entertainment hotspots to make you feel at home too, and although a running theme that access is still a little limited, things are getting back on track very quickly.
There’s a lot of information out there for first time digital nomads looking to explore too so make sure to read up before a trip, it’s an exciting adventure and there’s a lot to be gained from doing so, as long as you know what you want from the experience.
