Effective Ways to Make Chai Using Tea Bags

Chai is one of the most refreshing beverages around the globe that you can find tea lovers everywhere. Besides being flavorful, chai is also an excellent source of antioxidants such as theaflavins and catechins.

Many people use chai tea bags, so they can enjoy this wholesome beverage on the go— just pop a tea bag in a hot cup of water and it’s done. These chai tea bags are known to induce brewing tea quicker and more precisely. They are very convenient and quick to prepare.

Following are the effective ways to make chai using tea bags-

  1. Using the black Assam tea leaves.

The ingredients you need for this are 18 crushed cardamom pods, 2 tbsp ground ginger, 1 tbsp ground cinnamon, ½ tbsp ground black pepper, ½ grated nutmeg, and 150g black Assam leaves.

Step 1.

You should first toast the cardamom pods, nutmeg, ginger, and cinnamon in a dry frying pan for a minute straight.

Step 2.

After you have toasted each of the above ingredients well, mix the spices well in a bowl with the tea leaves. Then fill and seal around 18-20 empty tea bags with the mixture. Finally, brew one chai tea bag in 200ml of coconut milk for 5 minutes and then sweeten it with honey.

A chai latte is made by mixing water or milk with black tea and chai spices. These chai spices include cardamom, cloves, ginger, anise, and black pepper. It is advisable to use unsweetened almond milk as it tastes best.

Following are the ingredients you would need to prepare this chai-

  • Two cups of unsweetened almond milk.

  • Two chai tea bags.

  • Two tablespoons of white sugar.

  • ½ teaspoon vanilla.

  • ¼ teaspoon cinnamon.

  • 1/8 teaspoon cloves.

  • 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg.

Step 1.

Mix almond milk and coconut sugar together and steam it over low to medium heat at 130 degrees.

Step 2.

Add two chai tea bags and allow them to steam for five minutes.

Step 3.

Now, remove the chai tea bags and squeeze them.

Step 4.

Finally, add vanilla extract and spices and stir well. Voila! Your vanilla chai tea latte is ready.

The homemade chai mix recipe consists of the following-

  • Two teaspoons of ground ginger.

  • Two teaspoons or ground cinnamon.

  • ¾ teaspoon of cloves.

  • ¾ teaspoon of cardamom.

  • One teaspoon of allspice.

  • One teaspoon of nutmeg.

  • ½ teaspoon of finely ground black pepper.

  • 2 cups of sugar.

  • One cup of nonfat milk powder.

  • One cup of dairy cream.

Step 1.

Use a skillet for crushing cardamom, cloves and peppercorns. Put all of this in a sealable plastic bag and press the air out. Then, seal the bag and using a heavy skillet, crush the spices.

Step 2.

Peel a piece of ginger and slice it properly. Place the cinnamon sticks, ginger, and spices in a saucepan and toast every ingredient properly. Now, crush the mixture and add it in a chai tea bag. Simply dip the mixture into a cup of hot water, make use of your favorite milk (powdered milk, unsweetened almond milk, etc.), mix sugar, stir and enjoy!
