There is lots of information out there from where you should store your new bike, where should you insure it and what equipment do you need?
Not to worry, here are some basic tips to help you in the embryotic stages of owning a motorbike.
Where to ride?
The last thing you want to do when you raring to hit the open road on your new bike is be stuck on a boring road in traffic or on the other hand end up on a road that is too difficult for new riders.
You should ask the shop where you bought the bike where they would recommend to ride as they likely know the best locals routes.
You should also go online and find where the ‘biker friendly’ pubs are, as they are often located near good areas to ride and the people in there will be able to show you the best roads for motorbikes.
Torque Wrenches
Torque wrenches are designed to prevent over tightening when fastening nuts and bolts. These should one of the first things you put in your toolkit for motorbike maintenance. Torque wrenches are used for accurate torque settings and measure in Foot.

Safety Equipment
Now that you have your bike it is important that you get some essential items that will keep you safe.
A helmet should be the first thing you buy when buy your first motorcycle, it’s not only a legal requirement it is literally a life saver. You can now buy helmets with Bluetooth so you can answer called when you ride.
As well as a helmet you need to get some overall body protectors. Things like chest, legs and shoulder protectors are a must. Try to go for something made from carbon fibre and it is extremely strong and incredibly light for your comfort.
Storage
Maybe even more so than a car, it is vitally important that you store your new bike somewhere safe.
If you have an indoor garage then make sure you store it inside to protect it from theft and any water damage from rain. If you don’t have a garage then waterproof covers and locks are essential.
Storing your bike hidden from any main roads or busy areas will make it much cheaper to insure as well.
