The four doctors every woman should have
Visiting a doctor on a regular basis is very important, especially as you get older or as your body undergoes significant changes. There are obviously a great many different specialities and types of doctor out there, and hopefully you won’t encounter most of them at any stage. But some are going to have to be seen and probably quite regularly at that. As such these are the doctors with whom you should be seeking to build relationships. But who are they? And why is it so important for women to have relationships with them specifically?
The ultimate lady doctors
While there are plenty of specialists who women might need to see at some point in their lives, there is only one speciality that exists specifically for females. We are of course talking about avoiding infertility Melbourne and the city has many rooms where they can be consulted, as do Sydney or Perth or any of the other major cities in Australia. What is important here is that there is choice. And given that these are doctors who look after your female reproductive system, you will certainly want to find somebody you can feel comfortable and relaxed around.
Child birth is important
While your gynaecologist looks after your female reproductive system and ‘lady parts’ they are not actually responsible for the process of child birth and delivery. This is the domain of the obstetrician who us a child-birth expert and a doctor you will undoubtedly want to have a relationship with if you are planning on having children. Obstetricians and gynaecologists are often closely associated and might even work in partnership with each other – if you can find a single practice that caters to your needs even better.
A general practitioner
Everybody should have a general practitioner or GP. This is the doctor who acts as your first port of call in an emergency or when you are just feeling under the weather. A GP will treat certain things and refer you to specialists if they feel that the conditions with which you have presented requires deeper investigation. Most towns and villages will have a GP operating locally while most suburbs will have the choice of several GP to pick from. The point is that the GP is your go to person in times ill health. Make sure that they know you and your family, that they are familiar with your medical history and that, above all, you feel comfortable and happy talking to them and confiding your needs and concerns.
Look after your teeth
Dentists are often not given the recognition that they deserve. But the reality is that, not only are they important, they should also be visited regularly. Your mouth is the gateway to the digestive system, it is the tool that you use for kissing, it is the keeper of fresh breath and it holds your smile. As such a healthy mouth and teeth that are in good health condition are important. Seek out a good dentist and visit regularly. As is the case with the gynaecologist you should be visiting the dentist before you get ill, not only when there is a problem.
